【権力（けんりょく）】 power, authority

【叱る（しかる）】 to scold

例文①子どもが危ないことをしたので、親は強く叱りました。The child did something dangerous, so the parent scolded them firmly.

【甘やかす】 to spoil

【威圧的（いあつてき）】 intimidating, overbearing

【頭ごなし（あたまごなし）】 without listening, outright

【度が過ぎる（どがすぎる）】 to go too far, to be excessive

例文①教育のためだとしても、暴力は度が過ぎていると思います。Even if it is for educational purposes, I think violence goes too far.

例文②冗談のつもりでも、度が過ぎると相手を傷つけてしまいます。Even if you mean it as a joke, it can hurt someone if it goes too far.

【正当化する（せいとうかする）】 to justify

例文①結果が良かったからといって、その行動を正当化することはできません。Just because the outcome was good does not justify the action.

例文②昔から続いている習慣でも、それだけで正当化されるわけではありません。Even if a custom has existed for a long time, that alone does not justify it.
