初中級

🟡 記念（きねん）souvenir / memory

• この写真は、家族旅行の記念に撮ったものです。→ This photo was taken as a memory of a family trip.

• 卒業の記念に、クラスのみんなでTシャツを作りました。→ We made T-shirts as a graduation keepsake with our whole class.

  
  

🟡 手放す（てばなす）to let go of / to part with

• その車は古いけど、大事にしていたから手放すのがさびしいです。→ The car is old, but since I treasured it, it’s sad to let it go.

• 引っこしのときに、使っていないものを手放すことにしました。→ I decided to let go of things I don’t use when I moved.

  
  

🟡 ボロボロworn-out / tattered

• このぬいぐるみは、子どものころから使っていてボロボロです。→ This stuffed animal is all worn-out because I’ve used it since childhood.

• 毎日使っているカバンが、ボロボロになってきました。→ The bag I use every day is getting tattered.

  
  

🟡 思い出が詰まっている（おもいでがつまっている）full of memories

• この箱には、学生時代の思い出が詰まっているんです。→ This box is full of memories from my school days.

• 古いアルバムを見ていると、思い出が詰まっているなあと感じます。→ Looking at the old album, I feel like it's packed with memories.

中級・上級

🟣 愛着がある（あいちゃくがある）to be attached to / have an emotional attachment

• この机はもう古いけど、長年使ってきたから愛着があるんです。→ This desk is old, but I’ve used it for many years, so I’m emotionally attached to it.

• 初めて買ったギターには、特別な愛着がある。→ I have a special attachment to the first guitar I bought.

  
  

🟣 思い出が詰まっている（おもいでがつまっている）full of memories

• このぬいぐるみには、小さいころの思い出が詰まっているので捨てられない。→ This stuffed toy is full of childhood memories, so I can’t throw it away.

• 部屋の片づけをしていたら、思い出が詰まっている手紙の束を見つけた。→ While tidying up, I found a bundle of letters filled with memories.

  
  

🟣 引きずる（ひきずる）to be unable to let go / to be emotionally stuck

• 彼は失恋を長く引きずっていて、次の恋に進めないようだ。→ He seems to still be emotionally stuck after the breakup and can't move on.

• 過去の失敗をいつまでも引きずるのはよくない。→ It’s not good to keep dragging past failures with you.

  
  

🟣 形見（かたみ）keepsake / memento (from someone who passed away)

• これは亡くなった祖父の形見として大切にしています。→ I cherish this as a keepsake from my late grandfather.

• そのネックレスは母の形見で、ずっと身につけている。→ That necklace is my mother’s keepsake, and I always wear it.

  
  

🟣 断捨離（だんしゃり）decluttering / letting go of unneeded possessions

• 年末には毎年断捨離をして、気持ちを新たにするようにしています。→ I do a decluttering at the end of every year to refresh my mind.

• 断捨離を始めたら、部屋も気分もすっきりした。→ Once I started decluttering, both my room and my mood became clearer.
