🟡 見送る（みおくる）to see someone off / to say goodbye (at the end of life or travel)
祖母の葬式で、家族みんなで見送りました。 → We all saw my grandmother off at her funeral.
空港で友だちを見送ったあと、少しさびしくなりました。 → I felt a little lonely after seeing my friend off at the airport.
🟡 参列する（さんれつする）to attend (a ceremony, especially a funeral)
お葬式に参列するため、黒い服を着て行きました。 → I wore black clothes to attend the funeral.
社長のお葬式に多くの人が参列しました。 → Many people attended the company president’s funeral.
🟡 火葬（かそう）・土葬（どそう）cremation / burial
日本では、ほとんどの人が火葬されます。 → In Japan, most people are cremated.
私の国では、今でも土葬をする人が多いです。 → In my country, many people still use burial.
🟡 墓参り（はかまいり）visiting a grave
お盆に家族で墓参りに行きました。 → My family visited the grave during Obon.

🔷 遺言（ゆいごん）will / testament
祖父は、生前に「財産は子どもたちに分けてほしい」と遺言を残しました。 → My grandfather left a will saying, "Please divide my assets among the children."
遺言がなかったため、家族の間でトラブルになりました。 → Since there was no will, it caused trouble among the family.
🔷 参列する（さんれつする）to attend (a formal ceremony, such as a funeral)
知人の葬儀に参列し、心からお別れをしました。 → I attended an acquaintance’s funeral and said a heartfelt farewell.

🔷 看取る（みとる）to be with someone at the moment of death / to witness someone’s last moments
祖母の最期を家族で看取りました。 → Our family was with my grandmother when she passed away.
大切な人を看取ることができて、後悔はありません。 → I have no regrets because I was able to be there at the end.
🔷 お悔やみ申し上げます（おくやみもうしあげます）／ご愁傷さまです（ごしゅうしょうさまです）my deepest condolences / I’m sorry for your loss
「お悔やみ申し上げます」と書かれた手紙をいただきました。 → I received a letter that said, "My deepest condolences."
