ゴミが長い間放置されて、においがひどくなりました。

問題を放置すると、トラブルはもっと大きくなります。
If problems are left unaddressed, they will grow bigger.
【歩み寄る（あゆみよる）】to meet halfway / make a compromise
観光客と住民が、少しずつ歩み寄ることが大切です。
It is important for tourists and residents to meet each other halfway.
どちらか一方だけが我慢するのではなく、互いに歩み寄る必要があります。
Rather than only one side enduring, both sides need to compromise.
【当事者（とうじしゃ）】person directly involved / concerned party
この問題は、住民だけでなく、民泊の当事者にも関係があります。
